All About Dog Biscuits
You can add different healthy ingredients here and there as long as you know what types of food to avoid giving your dog; you will be able to make your own dog treats by scratch. Because peanut butter is a dog's favorite, you will be able to add this ingredient to many recipes. Recipe#1 Combine half of cup of peanut butter, 1 cup of milk, 2 tablespoons of oil. Pour batter into a bowl with 1 1/4 cup of all purpose flour and 1 1/4 cup of whole wheat flour. Spoon batter onto a cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Set the oven to 350∞F. Recipe #2: Take one large apple and mince it. Combine minced apple, 1/4 cup of honey, half a cup of water, a half teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1 cup of oatmeal. Slowly mix in wheat flour until dough is stiff. Take 1/8 cup of wheat flour and place in a bowl. Scoop a teaspoon of dough onto an un-greased cookie sheet; make sure dough is 2 inches apart. Take the bottom of a glass and dip it in wheat flour; with the glass bottom, flatten dough into a circle. Place in oven and bake for 35 minutes. Do not remove from the oven until dog biscuits are browned. Recipe #3: Prepare oven to 350∞F. In a large saucepan combine 1/4 cup honey, 1 cup of smooth peanut butter, 2 cups of water, and 1/3 cup vegetable oil. Heat the mixture and stir often before it begins to simmer. Turn off heat. Combine mixture with 3 cups of oat flour and 1 cup of oat bran and let cool until room temperature. Stiffen the dough by gradually adding oat flour. Kneed dough on a floured surface until smooth. Take dough and shape into a ball that is 1/4 inch thick. Use cookie cutter to cut small shapes out of dough. Transfer dough to un-greased baking sheet, making sure that each is 1/4 inch apart. Bake for about 35 minutes. Take out of the oven and flip the biscuits. Place back in oven and bake for an extra 30 minutes. Cool overnight. You can always substitute items in your dog biscuits recipe for carrots, parsley, apples, etc. I would make sure to research what your dog is not allowed to have; some dangerous foods include chocolates, onion, grapes, and many nuts.
