Five Really Simple Dog Biscuit Recipes

Here are a few easy dog biscuit recipes that should get you going. Sometimes the treats we get from a box, just aren't the quality we want to give to our dog. So, get cooking and make some yourself.

A Basic Dog Biscuit:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 3 tablespoons wheat germ
  • Preheat oven to 350°. Break eggs into a bowl and stir until blended. Add the wheat germ and milk. Stir until smooth. Add whole wheat flour and mix into egg mixture with your hands. Pat dough into a rectangle 3" wide and 1/2 inch thick, then cut it into 3/4 inch wide bones shapes. Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 25 minutes on one side and turn over and bake 25 minutes on the other side. Cool biscuits on racks. Makes 16 dog biscuits.

Stir around the drippings of the bacon. Mix in cold water until the the mixture is moist. Roll this mixture out 1/4 inch thick and cut into shapes or shape into dog biscuits by hand. Place 1 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake them at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes. Let them cool, then store in an airtight container. Makes 40 biscuits.
